How to create a form
Learn how to get started on creating a form with the resources below.
- Learn which question type to use.
- Step by step guide on how to create your first form.
- Add a Welcome Screen to provide context on your form.
- Use Recall information to pull answers from previous questions into other questions you ask later on.
- If you already know your respondent’s name, email, or other information, you can use URL parameters to pipe that information directly into your form.
- Add images and GIFs to your forms.
- Create multi-language forms where respondents have the option to translate your form to the language set in their browser. Or you can change your form’s language setting and default texts, buttons, and error messages are translated into one of the supported languages.
- Show how many people have already completed your form to encourage submissions.
- Use logic to skip respondents to relevant questions based on their answers to your form.
- Use tagging rules to qualify candidates on job applications or applicant screening forms.
- Be a little more personal by asking questions with a video and you can also collect video or audio responses in your form.
Work with your team
Do other members of your team need access to create or view forms? With Typeform, you can invite users to your Organization (your Typeform account) and assign different permissions to access your forms and responses. You can also create multiple Workspaces to manage your forms, just like a folder. Then give members of your organization access to only the Workspaces they need. Learn how to add users to Organizations and Workspaces here.
Customize and brand your form
Use Typeform’s design tools to customize your forms to match your company’s brand.
- Apply a theme to your form to change the colors, font, background image, and logo.
- Create a brand kit that contains your company’s assets and visuals. Everyone in your Organization can then create consistent looking forms with the assets and visuals in your brand kit.
- Remove Typeform branding.
- Customize the text on system messages in your forms and make it more relevant to your respondents.
- Customize your form’s URL.
Create a workflow
Create automated processes to send the data you collect in your form to another tool you use in your workflow.
- Send follow-up email messages to your respondents to thank them for completing your form. Or send yourself or your team an email notification every time someone completes your form.
- Use Zapier to connect Typeform with another tool. For example, you can send your form responses to Greenhouse via Zapier.
- Send file uploads such as resumes or CVs straight to Google Drive or Dropbox.
How to share your form
Once you’re happy with the design of your form, make sure to publish it to make it live.
Then share your form with a link or QR code, or launch your form from an email distribution tool, like Mailchimp or HubSpot.
How to analyze your results
After you’ve collected responses to your form, you can view them in the Results panel.
Your results summary will give you an overview of how your respondents answered each of your questions. You’ll see a quick glance of how many responses you’ve received for each answer option.
You can also create a responses report to easily share the results of your form with other stakeholders.
To view individual responses, head over to the Responses tab.
