Your Home page dashboard

If your account includes the Contacts & Automations add-on, you’ll also see a Home page dashboard with two sections. At the top, a dashboard of insight cards gives you an at-a-glance view of form, contact, and automation performance over the last 7 days. Below that, the Contacts Analytics summary page displays comabined visualizations for every contact property.

Contacts are available on all Typeform plans. If you’re on an Enterprise plan, only users with Owner or Admin permissions can view Contacts and access contact data. Contact your CSM if you would like to give access to Contacts to all team members.

Automations are available as an add-on feature on the Plus, Business, Talent, Growth Custom, and Enterprise plans. Automations are included in the Growth Flow plan at no extra cost.

To access your Home page dashboard, log into your Typeform account, and navigate to the Home tab.

Key metrics and trends

Under Key metrics and trends you’ll see three snapshot cards with information about how your forms, contacts, and automations have been performing in the last 7 days. You’ll need to collect data for at least 7 days to see information about your forms, contacts and automations here.

Completion rate: Newest form:

  • Shows the completion rate of the most recently published form in your account
  • The rate shown here is computed over the last 7 days
  • You can click the name of the form to navigate to the form's Insights page
  • The percentage change (increase, decrease, or no change) compares the last 7 days to the previous 7 days

Total contacts enriched:

  • Count of contacts that had at least one property populated via contact enrichment in the last 7 days
  • The percentage change (increase, decrease, or no change)compares the last 7 days to the previous 7 days

Total active automations:

  • Shows the current number of active automations
  • The percentage change (increase, decrease, or no change) compares the last 7 days to the previous 7 days

Email performance

Under Email performance, you can view your highest and lowest performing emails in the last 7 days with information about the open and click rate of your email automations. You can find out more about email performance metrics here.

Email performance metrics are only available for automations sent from a custom email domain. Emails sent from the notifications@followups.typeform.io Typeform domain will not be tracked.

Each card shows the top two or bottom two automation emails for that metric with the following information:

  • The click rate or open rate of the automation, for example, 65%
  • The percentage change (increase, decrease, or no change) of that specific automation email's rate compared to the previous 7 days
  • The email subject line as a link that you can click to navigate to the automation containing that email

If you have at least two automations, you’ll see the following information about your email performance over the last 7 days:

  • Highest email open rate: % of highest email open rate and % of change in email open rate compared to the previous 7 days
  • Lowest email open rate: % of lowest email open rate and % of change in email open rate compared to the previous 7 days
  • Highest email click rate: % of highest email click rate and % of change in email open rate compared to the previous 7 days
  • Lowest email click rate: % of lowest email click rate and % of change in email open rate compared to the previous 7 days

If you have only one automation running, you’ll only see the Email open rate and Email click rate metrics, but not the highest or lowest rates.

Ranking logic:

  • Computed across all automation emails that sent at least one email in the last 7 days.
  • Ties are broken by volume
  • If an automation didn't send in the prior 7-day window, the trend shows a "New" pill instead of a the percentage change (increase, decrease, or no change)

The display rules for these metrics are the following:

  • Contacts metrics cards appear if you have at least one contact in your account
  • Automations metrics cards appear if you have at least one published automation in your account
  • If you have only one automation with one email in your account, you’ll only see the highest cards, while the lowest will be hidden

The percentage change (increase, decrease, or no change) calculation works the following way for all cards:

  • Current period: Today through 6 days ago (7 calendar days)
  • Prior period: 7 days ago through 13 days ago (7 calendar days)
  • Formula: (current - prior) / prior × 100, displayed as a signed integer percentage (for example, +2%, -1%)
  • Today is always a partial day; no adjustment is made

Dig deeper

Under Dig deeper you’ll see detailed contact analytics about your individual contact properties. The analytics here are structured in the same way as the analysis of your individual form questions on the Results Summary page.

Each property in the main Contacts list is presented as a card similar to the form level summary page. Contact property types map to visualizations in the following ways:

  • Multiple choice properties: Bar chart
  • Text properties: Open-ended text cards
  • Numeric properties: Summary statistics
  • Subscription status: Bar chart

In the example below, you can see the overview of the Subscription status property showing the number of contacts distributed across the Subscribed, Unsubscribed, Never subscribed, and Suppressed subscription status. You can find out more about the Subscription status contact property here.

You can click the Table, Horizontal chart, and Vertical chart icons to switch between these views when visualizing your data.

You can also click Trends to change the visualization to show data over time. You can select the time granularity of your view from the dropdown list to choose between Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly trends, with Weekly as the default option. Visualization based on trends over time is currently only available for multiple choice properties.

For numeric properties, you’ll see the mean, median, min-max and standard deviation of the contact property. You can find out more about these descriptive statistics here.

For text properties, you’ll see open-ended text cards with information provided about that text property. For example, if you have form responses mapped to your contact properties, you’ll see the answers your respondents have submitted under the contact property mapped to that question.
