Make your forms faster and easier to complete by showing respondents only the answer choices relevant to them. With hide answer choices logic, you can use previous answers or URL parameters to remove options that don't apply.
For example, ask respondents which webinars interest them, then show only those webinars in a follow-up Ranking question.
You can use the answer choices from the following question types to hide answer choices from the following question types:
- Multiple Choice
- Picture Choice
- Dropdown
- Ranking
Additionally, you can use URL parameters in your logic rule to hide answer choices from supported question types. For example, if you have a URL parameter utm_source=facebook, you can hide answer options that aren’t relevant to Facebook visitors.

How to hide answer choices
1. Create your form with the supported question types. We have a Multiple Choice question with Multiple selection enabled, asking respondents which webinars they’re interested in attending.
2. Next, we have a Ranking question, asking respondents to rank their selected webinars in order of preference.
3. Now we can add logic rules to hide answer choices that are not relevant to the respondent.
Click the Workflow tab and then click Logic.
4. Select the question you want to hide answer choices from on the left.
We’ll select question #2, the Ranking question. Then click Hide answer choices.
5. Click + Add hide answer rule.
6. We’ll then use the dropdowns to create the logic rule to say:
Hide answer choice Customer acquisition workflow, when question 1 Which webinars are you interested in, is not Customer acquisition workflow.
This means that if they don’t select Customer acquisition workflow, they won’t see the answer choice Customer acquisition workflow in the follow up Ranking question.
In other words, when someone selects Customer acquisition workflow, they will be shown Customer acquisition in the Ranking question.
When you select an answer choice to hide from the dropdown, you can select multiple choices to hide at once.
7. Click + Add hide answer rule to add another rule.
8. We’ll add another rule to:
Hide answer choice Engagement and conversions, when question 1 Which webinars are you interested in, is not Engagement and conversions.
We’ll repeat the process of hiding answer choices on the Ranking question for every answer choice from the Multiple Choice question.
9. Click Save when you’re done adding your logic rules.
10. Click the preview icon in the tool bar to test your form’s logic.
11. Once you’re happy with your form, click Share or Publish edits to make your form live.

FAQ
What happens if all answer choices are hidden from logic?
If all answer choices are hidden, the question is skipped entirely. The respondent won’t see the question and the answer to the question will be blank in your Responses table.
What happens if a respondent goes back and changes an answer that triggers a hide answer choice logic rule?
If a respondent goes back and changes an answer that triggers a hide answer choice rule, the logic will follow the new answer choice the respondent selected.
What happens if I use the “Other” option in a Multiple Choice question?
If you have the “Other” option enabled on a Multiple Choice question, you won’t be able to hide this answer choice.
However, you can use the “Other” answer choice in creating the logic rule. For example, hide answer choice A in question 2 when answer to question 1 is Other.
Can I use hide answer choice logic when I have multiple questions in a form page?
No, hide answer choice logic is not supported on questions that have been added to a multi-question page.
Can I use variables, custom variables or scores to hide answer choices?
No, currently variables, custom variables and scores are not supported with hiding answer choice logic.
