Once you’ve created a research study with Research Flow, you’ll have a few different options to share it with your chosen audience. This article explains how to recruit respondents to take your study using Prolific or User Interviews as your panel vendor.
With Research Flow, you can select the Recruit respondents option to specify your target audience and find qualified respondents who match it. This feature lets you use Prolific.com or User Interviews to recruit participants for your study. Participants recruited through either provider are paid participants and have been verified by our panel vendors.
Click to learn more about how Prolific protects data quality, and how User Interviews deters fraud on the platform and maintains high participant quality.
You can find out more about the services and advantages of these two recruitment providers and which provider to choose for your study in our comparison guide.

Recruit participants for your study with Prolific
- Click Share in the top right corner.
- Click the Recruit from external panel option. This will allow you to send your study to a targeted audience using a panel vendor.
- Now you can select Prolific or User Interviews as your recruitment provider. You can find out more about these providers in our comparison guide.
- Here you can use advanced filters to refine your target audience. Click the Select from advanced filters dropdown list to view available filters.
- Select an option from the dropdown list. In this example, we’ve first selected Demographics, then chose Age within that category.
- For example, you can select the age filter and add 30 as the minimum age and 45 as the maximum age of participants if you’re researching millennials.
- You can also add multiple filters to refine your target audience. Click + Add filter to create a new filter using AND/OR operators. Selecting AND means that your target audience will have to meet both filtering conditions specified here.
In this example, the study will be launched to people who are between 30 and 45, and their current country of residence is either the US or the UK.
- Next, you can select the number of people you want to reach with your study. This limit will vary depending on your plan/access.
You’ll see an error message like the one below if you enter a value exceeding the maximum number of respondents for your study.
- Add the title or name of your study and a short description with information like the goal of your study, what participants will need to do while answering the study, or what type of equipment they’ll need to submit their answers.
Tip: Make sure to add a clear title and description to your study. This can help you recruit participants who are a better fit for taking the study.
- When you’re happy with your selection, click Launch recruitment to share your study with this recruitment group.
A recruitment group is a group of participants who match the audience selected for your study. The group you’ve just launched your recruitment to will be saved on the share page of your research study, and you’ll be able to create other recruitment groups within the same study.
For example, if you want to launch your study to a recruitment group based on a different age range or geographic location, you can repeat the steps above to create a new recruitment group while also collecting data from the previously created groups.
If you’ve already collected responses and reached your study’s recruitment limit, you’ll see a message with a link to your study’s Results page. If you’d like to recruit more participants, you can create a new study with Research Flow.
