Create a form with Typeform AI
Here’s how to get started:
1. Log into your Typeform account, and click + Create a new form.
2. Start typing in the text field to explain the goal of your form, or paste your form questions. Hit Enter when you're happy with your prompt.
Alternatively, click the microphone icon for voice dictation.
You can also get started by opening up an existing form, and clicking in the text field next to Chat to create.
3. Type your prompt in the text field that appears. This can be a request asking AI to add specific questions to your form, to improve the tone of voice of your form, or to create a complete form from scratch with a specific goal in mind, like a subscription form or a lead gen form.
4. In this example, we’ll create a form with a detailed prompt asking the AI to create a fun film quiz. We want 10 questions with 4 answer options for each question, and we’ll ask for the questions to be about Hollywood movies made in the 80s.
5. After some thinking, here’s what the AI created for us. In this menu you’ll be able to see changes suggested by the AI, you can preview your form, and continue chatting with the AI by typing prompts in the text field in the bottom left corner of the screen.
6. You can scroll through the form to see all the questions AI has added, and add more prompts to refine the form.
7. In this example, we’ve asked the AI to also show the correct answers to each question, and received the information that this is not supported yet. We’ll just click Apply changes to form to save the changes suggested by the AI and go back to the Content panel.
8. You can also click X in the top right corner to close this menu and discard changes suggested by the AI. In this case you’ll see a warning message asking you to confirm that you want to discard AI’s latest suggestions.
9. As we thought the form’s design was a bit bland, we’ve also asked the AI to apply some branding to the form, and were informed that custom form design features are not supported yet with Typeform AI. You can find out all about designing a beautiful form here.
10. We’ve decided to respond with a yes to the AI’s question about adding more interactive content to the form instead. Now the form includes a Welcome Screen introducing people to my movie quiz, and the tone of voice of my questions has been tweaked as well to make them sound more fun.
11. In addition to this, the form now also includes an Ending thanking people for completing the quiz, and some fun emojis. Click Apply changes to form if you’re happy with the changes suggested by AI.
Note that showing different endings for quiz scores is not supported by Typeform AI just yet. However, you can easily switch to Knowledge quiz mode to select correct answers and add scores to each answer.
You can use Typeform AI for several other use cases, like creating contact forms, lead generation forms, personality quizzes, product recommendation quizzes, and much more.
In the example below, we’ve asked AI to create a product recommendation quiz for skincare products based on people’s skin type. The form created by AI already includes branching logic sending people to different Endings based on their answer to our question about their skin type.
The form suggested by AI also includes three endings based on people’s skin type with detailed information about the products recommended for that skin type. You can personalize these recommendations by adding images or your products or links to your website.

Manage your Typeform AI memory
You can manage the contextual data stored in Typeform AI's long-term memory to personalize your form creation experience. Typeform AI memory takes account level information and skills to automatically populate information like your name, role, company, and context about why you signed up to use Typeform.
The AI uses information from the onboarding survey you completed when signing up to use Typeform, enrichment data from brand kits, or a search tool with your company URL when no enrichment data is available. You can update this information manually to make it more relevant to your use case. Read on to find out how.
To manage your Typeform AI memory:
1. Open up an existing form, or create a new one. In the example below, we're creating a new form.
2. Click the three dots in the chat field and select Typeform AI memory.
Below is an example of contextual information automatically populated by Typeform AI.
3. You can customize this information by adding up to 2,000 characters to the text field.
For example, you can add relevant information about the following:
- Your company description
- Your brand tone guidelines
- Your lead qualification and customer segmentation framework
- Your ideal customer profile
- What you're selling
- How you're using Typeform
4. Click Save when you're happy with your edits.
Upload files to Typeform AI
If you already have some documents that you'd like to turn into forms, you can upload files to Typeform AI and use a single prompt to ask AI to create a form for you based on a text file you've uploaded.

Typeform AI form creation tips
Below you can find a few tips on how to create better forms with AI:
- Be clear and specific: Instead of a general request, detail what you need. For example, "Create a Halloween trivia quiz with 8 questions and 4 answer options" is better than "Create a quiz".
- Provide context: Give the AI background information so it can understand what kind of form you need and tailor its answer. This can include your audience, the purpose of the form, and other relevant details.
- Assign a role: Tell the AI who it should be, such as a "marketing expert," a "travel guide," or a "storyteller," to influence the style and perspective of its response.
- Specify the format: Clearly state how you want the information presented, for example, by mentioning the Typeform question types you want to include in your form.
- Use examples: Provide a sample of the desired output to show the AI the exact structure, tone, and style you are looking for.
- Break down complex tasks: If your request is complicated, divide it into several simpler, focused prompts to get better results.
Refine your prompts:
- Iterate and refine: AI is a tool, not a mind reader. If the initial response isn't what you expected, don't give up. Adjust your prompt and try again, treating it as a conversation.
- Ask for clarification: If the AI provides an unsatisfactory answer, ask it to clarify, add more detail, or try again.
- Test your prompts: Test different prompts to see which ones yield the most relevant and engaging content for your specific needs.
