Imagine you’re creating a quiz or a test, and you want to assign points to answers. Then, based on these answers, you want to show people their results, give them a grade, or redirect them to a relevant website.
Maybe you want to create a geography quiz for your students or a fun film quiz for your colleagues, and you want to show them how they did as soon as they submit their answers. This can easily be done by assigning correct answers and adding scores to responses in Knowledge quiz mode.
You can add scores to Multiple Choice, Picture Choice, Yes/No, Opinion Scale, Rating, Dropdown, and Legal question types.

Note! You can use Number, Statement, Long Text, Short Text, Phone Number, Email, Date, File Upload, Payment and Website question types in a typeform using scores, but you cannot add scores to these question types.
In this simple scenario we want to show people the following when they submit their answers to our film quiz:
- Zero to three questions answered correctly → “You enjoy a good movie night, but you're not one to get bogged down in the details. You're here for the experience, the popcorn, and the company. There's a whole world of cinema out there for you to explore, which makes you a Casual Moviegoer.”
- Four to seven questions answered correctly → “You know your stuff! You pay attention to the plot, you remember iconic lines, and you can hold your own in a movie trivia conversation. You've seen the classics and you're always on the lookout for the next great film, which makes you a Film Enthusiast.”
- Eight to ten questions answered correctly → “Bravo! You're a true movie expert. You not only watch films, you study them. Your knowledge of cinematic details is impressive, and you could probably direct your own blockbuster. You've earned the title of Ultimate Cinephile!, which makes you the Ultimate Cinephile.”
Let’s see how it’s done:
1. Go to the Content panel of your form and create all your questions.
2. Create an Ending for each of your score ranges.
3. Click the dropdown arrow next to Universal mode and select Knowledge quiz mode from the dropdown list.
4. Click Set correct answers on the screen that appears.
5. Use the checkboxes to select correct answers and assign points to your answers. In this example, we’ll just give 1 point for a correct answer. If you select a correct answer, the score will be 1 by default, and if you don't select a correct answer, it will be 0. click Save when ready.
5. Click on a score range next to an Ending to edit it.
6. Enter the numbers to add your score ranges, and hit Save when ready.

Note! Make sure that your score ranges don’t overlap with each other. For example, you cannot create a score range from 1 to 3, and then the next one from 3 to 5. The correct score range would be 1 to 3 and then 4 to 5. You can, however, create a score range for a single score, for example, 5 to 5 if all answers are correct, and 0 to 0 if all answers are wrong.
7. You'll see a message showing people their score on your Ending screens by default.
Here's what people will see after they submit your form if they get 4 out of 10 questions right.
Perfect, you just showed people different Endings based on their scores!
