Recurring payments make it easy to automatically charge customers on a regular schedule, so you can spend less time following up on invoices and more time running your business. Set up a recurring payment in your form to collect subscription fees, memberships, ongoing services, or other repeat charges on a schedule that works for you.
When you use a Payment question, your respondents can pay for your product or service without leaving your form. Respondents have the option to pay with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Amex), Apple Pay, or Google Pay through Stripe.
Note! If your form is embedded in your website, Apple Pay and Google Pay will not be available as payment options for your respondents.

What do I need to use the Payment question?
You need a Basic or higher Typeform plan and a Stripe account. The Payment question type isn't available on Typeform Enterprise accounts that host their data in the EU Data Center.
When setting up a Payment question, you can create a new Stripe account, or link your existing one to Typeform. Your Typeform account can only be connected to one Stripe account at a time: the same Stripe account will be used for all forms you create with Payment questions.
Per Stripe's policies, Stripe accounts can also only be connected to one platform at a time. This means that if your Stripe account is already connected to a different platform, you'll need to use a separate account under the same login to connect to Typeform. When you connect to Stripe through the Typeform platform, Stripe will show all existing accounts that can be connected to the platform. If there are no available accounts, you can create a new one.
You can use Stripe's legal entity sharing feature to reuse data about your business when creating new Stripe accounts.
Stripe charges a very small transaction fee on payments. Find out more on Stripe’s pricing and fees page.

When a respondent fills out your form, they can select which subscription they would like to purchase from the dropdown on the Payment question.
Note! Respondents will need to manually select which subscription they would like to purchase in the form. Logic can’t be used to show a specific subscription to the respondent.
FAQ
How many Payment questions can I have in my form?
You can only add one Payment question per form.
Can the Payment question collect both one-time payments and recurring payments?
No. The Payment question can either be a one-time payment or a recurring payment, it can’t be both.
What happens if I’ve added a Partial Submit Point to the form?
If you’ve added a Partial Submit Point to a form with a Payment question, the payment won’t be processed and no payment data will be captured until the respondent reaches the end of your form and submit it.
Does the respondent need to enter an email address when making a payment?
Yes, an email address is required as it’s needed to create a Stripe Customer record in Stripe.
How do I manage my subscription?
Subscription management tasks—including cancellations, refunds, subscription changes, updating payment methods, viewing invoices, and managing failed payments—must be handled in Stripe.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, Stripe requires a minimum charge of $0.50/€0.50. Charges below the minimum will be marked with Invoice too small by Stripe and will be converted to customer credit instead of being charged. Make sure you’ve added a price for your subscription to be more than the $0.50/€0.50 minimum.
My respondent wasn’t charged, what happened?
If the response to the form has been successfully submitted, review your Stripe Dashboard.
Below are some possible scenarios:
- Applied customer credit balance - the invoice may show Amount due: $0.00 because a credit was applied to the Stripe customer record.
- Trial period on the subscription - if the Stripe subscription has a trial period configured, no charge triggers until the trial ends. The subscription in Stripe will show as trialing.
- Invoice too small - if the subscription price is below Stripe’s minimum amount ($0.50/€0.50), Stripe marks the invoice as Invoice too small and it’ll be converted to customer credit. You’ll need to update the subscription to be above the minimum amount.
- No charge receipt email - if a receipt wasn’t sent to a respondent, check your Stripe account to see if a successful payment was made.
A respondent wants to cancel their subscription, what do I do?
You’ll need to cancel the subscription from your Stripe account. Respondents will not be able to cancel their subscription through a typeform.
Does Stripe send a confirmation email to the respondent?
You can set up email notifications for payments through your Stripe account.
Alternatively, you can set up confirmation emails to be sent through Typeform’s Automations. Create an automation for when a respondent completes your form with the Payment question.
Can I use logic with a Payment question?
Yes, you can use logic to skip respondents to a Payment question.
What happens if I delete a subscription from Stripe?
Your form will still contain the Stripe subscription you’ve deleted, but when you publish your form, you’ll get an error that the subscription is unavailable. You’ll need to update your form to remove any deleted subscriptions.
What happens if I disconnect my Stripe account from Typeform?
Existing subscriptions will continue in Stripe, disconnecting Stripe from Typeform doesn’t cancel the subscriptions. If a respondent tries to pay for a subscription when the Stripe account is disconnected, they’ll see an error message. You’ll need to reconnect your Stripe account to Typeform.
How can I match a Stripe payment with the form it came from?
The Description field in Stripe's payments list shows Created from [form name]. Typeform passes the form name to Stripe as the payment description. You can check this in the Stripe Payments list without clicking into individual charges.
