Connect Typeform to your AI with the Typeform MCP server

Bring Typeform into your AI of choice so you can manage your account without switching tools.

If your AI tool supports custom MCP connectors, you can connect to Typeform by adding the Typeform MCP server URL and signing in with your Typeform account.

Looking to connect to Claude or ChatGPT? See the following articles for step-by-step instructions:

What is the Typeform MCP server?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It lets AI connect to Typeform so you can ask questions, find information, and complete actions using natural language instead of doing everything manually in your Typeform account.

The Typeform MCP server is what makes that connection possible in ChatGPT, Claude, and other compatible AI tools.

Typeform MCP supports OAuth only. Personal access tokens aren’t supported for MCP connections.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • A Typeform account
  • An account with an AI tool that supports custom MCP connectors
  • Your Typeform MCP server URL: https://api.typeform.com/mcp

Server address for the Typeform MCP

When you add the Typeform MCP server in another tool, you’ll be asked for a server URL or server address.

Use one of these URLs, depending on where your Typeform account is hosted:

Region / data center MCP server URL
Global / default https://api.typeform.com/mcp
EU (option 1) https://api.eu.typeform.com/mcp
EU (option 2) https://api.typeform.eu/mcp

If you’re not sure which one to use, start with the Global / default URL.

Connect Typeform to your AI

The exact names of the settings and buttons can vary, but the setup usually looks like this:

  1. Open your AI’s settings or integrations area.
  2. Look for a place to add an app, connector, custom integration, or MCP server.
  3. Create a new connection.
  4. Enter a name for the connection, like Typeform.
  5. If it asks for a connection type, choose Server URL, custom server, or the closest equivalent.
  6. Enter your Typeform MCP server URL.
  7. If it asks for an authentication method, choose OAuth. Typeform MCP supports OAuth only. Personal access tokens aren’t supported for MCP connections.
  8. Finish creating the connection.
  9. Sign in with Typeform when prompted.
  10. Review the permissions being requested, then click Accept.

What you can do once connected

Once the connection is set up, you can ask your AI to work with your Typeform account and do things like create new forms, update existing forms, create a form from a PDF you upload, inspect supported form capabilities, summarize responses, list your forms, or create contacts.

You can try prompts like:

  • “Show me all the Typeform tools you can use for my account.”
  • “Create a customer feedback form with Name, Email, NPS, and Text questions in my Typeform account.”
  • “Update my onboarding form in Typeform so the Email question is required and move it before Company size.”
  • Use the information in this PDF I'm uploading to create a form in my Typeform account."
  • “Summarize recent responses for my form in Typeform.”
  • “Create a new contact for Alex Rivera with the email alex@example.com in my Typeform account.”

When we say tools here, we mean actions the AI can take for you, like creating a contact or listing your forms.

Before publishing any changes to your forms, review them carefully to confirm everything looks and works as expected. If a form is already live and collecting responses, some edits can affect existing results. For more guidance, see Editing a form that’s already live and collecting responses.

If the AI doesn’t use Typeform for your request straight away, try mentioning Typeform explicitly in your prompt. For example, instead of saying "Make a customer feedback form", try "Use Typeform to create a customer feedback form."

You may also need to make sure Typeform is turned on for that conversation.

Troubleshooting

I can’t find where to add the integration

Look for settings related to apps, integrations, connectors, developer options, or MCP servers.

I don’t see the latest Typeform tools

If you already connected Typeform before, refresh your tool list or reconnect the Typeform MCP to load the latest available tools.

Can I upload a PDF and ask my AI tool to create a form from it?

If your AI tool supports file uploads, you can upload a PDF and ask it to create a form using Typeform MCP. Results can vary depending on the AI tool and model you’re using, so review the form carefully before publishing.

The AI asks for a server URL

Use:

https://api.typeform.com/mcp

If your Typeform account is hosted in the EU, use one of the EU URLs listed above instead.

Authentication issues

If setup fails or you see a validation error, make sure you selected OAuth during authentication. Typeform MCP doesn’t support personal access tokens.
