How to grant camera and microphone access for Research Flow studies

Answering a Research Flow study requires camera and microphone access permissions on the browser and device your respondents are using. If you're trying to join a Research Flow study and your browser keeps blocking the camera or microphone, this guide will help you fix it in a few simple steps.

Most permission issues are related to the following:

  • Your browser settings for the study site (desktop or mobile)
  • Your device/OS privacy settings that control whether the browser can use your camera and microphone

You can get started by working through the sections that apply to you below. After making changes, refresh the study page, or fully close and reopen the browser, and try launching the study again.

Google Chrome

  1. Click Chrome and select Settings on the left side of the address bar.

  1. Navigate to Privacy and security, and click Site settings.

  1. Select the Typeform website. In this example, the camera and microphone permissions to this site are blocked.

  1. Select Allow from the dropdown list next to Camera.
