Create Contact lists based on properties

You can create contact lists to segment your audience based on Contact properties. For example, you can create a contact list that only includes contacts from the location you’ve selected.

You can then use the Contact lists you’ve created in Automations to send communications to your target audience. Find out more about how to create Automations from Contact lists here.

To create a new contact list:

  1. Click + next to Contact lists.

  1. Type the name of your list in the List name field. In this example, we’re just calling our list German contacts.

  1. Next, select a filter from the Add filter dropdown list. In this example, we’ll select the Location property as our filter.

  1. Choose a condition, and type the name of the filter you want to apply. In this example, we’ll create a contact list based on respondents who said they were located in Germany. Click Create list when you’re done with your selection.

Now you’ll see the list you’ve created has been added under Segments. Clicking the list will let you view the contacts in this list based on the filter(s) you’ve applied. You can also see the name of the filter(s) used to create the list on the right hand side.

You can click the three dots next to the name of the list to edit or delete it.

If you want to learn more about how to reorder, show, or hide columns in the Contact lists you’ve created, check out this article about sorting your columns.
