Understanding your Form performance

The Form performance section gives you a big picture overview of your form's performance, and a question-by-question analysis of drop-off.

To view your Form performance, click the Results tab after opening your form and click Form performance.

Filters

You can filter your insights by time and/or device.

Filtering your insights will only show the insights collected in the time period and/or device(s) you chose. The date filter uses UTC to filter results.

Note! You can only filter back to a period of one year, so if your typeform was created more than a year ago, you'll only be able to filter back to one year before the current date.

At a glance

The At a glance section shows you Views, Starts, Submissions/Responses, Completion rate, and the Average time to complete.

Trends

If you're on a Business, Talent, Growth Flow, Growth Custom, or Enterprise plan, you'll also see a trend chart that shows how each of these metrics has changed over time. Use the drop-down menu to show different metrics. Use the date filter to change the date range displayed (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly).

What do each of these metrics mean?

Views: The total number of times your typeform has been loaded, whether or not it was started. Each visit counts as a view, even if it's from the same respondent. Any forms created before July 23rd 2020 may see discrepancies in this, as it was not tracked before that date.

Starts: How many times your typeform was loaded and someone started it. This means they clicked a button, typed in a text field, or scrolled to the next question.

Submissions: How many times people completed your typeform.

If you delete a submission from your results (for example, an old response), these metrics won't change, as Big picture insights are meant to show how your typeform is performing overall. Typeform doesn't provide metrics for partial responses, or typeforms that were partially filled out but not submitted.

Completion rate: The percentage of people who completed your typeform after starting. To calculate this, we divide the number of Responses by the number of Starts, multiplied by 100.

Time to complete: The mean, or average, of how long people took to complete your form - from starting to clicking the Submit button at the end of the form.

You can change the Trends chart by clicking the different options on the top right corner of the chart.

Note! It is currently not possible to reset the response counter, and deleting existing responses doesn't reset Views and Starts. As a workaround to restart the counter from zero, you can duplicate the form and start collecting responses there.
