Do you have certain questions in your form that you absolutely need the data for? By adding a Partial Submit Point, you can collect partial responses to the most important questions in your form.
Responses to questions answered before reaching the Partial Submit Point will be collected, and you'll be able to see the corresponding data in your Results panel. Collecting partial responses will count toward your response limit.

Note! The Partial Submit Point isn’t available on our mobile builder.
Plan availability
To collect partial responses, you'll need a Basic plan or higher. You can add 1 Partial Submit Point on the Basic and Plus plans and up to 3 Partial Submit Points on the Business, Growth Essentials, Growth Pro, Growth Custom, or Enterprise plan.

Note! If you've added Partial Submit Points to a form with branching or scoring before May 15th, 2025, those Partial Submit Points may have been disabled automatically on plans previously not supporting the use of both functionailites. To make sure that your Partial Submit Points are capturing partial responses in these forms, remove them, and add them back to the form.
If you're on a free plan, you can add a Partial Submit Point to your form to see how it works, but you'll need to upgrade your plan or remove the Partial Submit Point before you can publish your form and collect responses.
You can add Partial Submit Points to both new and existing forms.
If you decide to downgrade to a plan that doesn't include partial responses, your form will be closed to new responses and will not collect partial responses anymore. To re-enable this feature, you would need to upgrade your plan and publish the form again.
How to add a Partial Submit Point
1. From the Content panel, click the + Add content button.
2. Under the Other section, select Partial Submit Point.
3. Drag and drop the Partial Submit Point to where you want to receive a partial response.
When a respondent clicks the button on the question directly preceding the Partial Submit Point, all responses to questions up to this point will be submitted.

Tip! Make important questions required if you need them to be answered.

Note! Partial Submit Points must be placed after at least one question and can’t be placed after the Welcome Screen or at the end of the form.
4. To delete the Partial Submit Point, click the 3 dots and select Delete.
5. You can add up to 3 Partial Submit Points if you're on the Business, Growth Essentials, Growth Pro, Growth Custom or Enterprise plan.
For each Partial Submit Point that the respondent passes, you'll be able to see the corresponding data in the Results section.
Add a Partial Submit Point to a form with Logic or Scoring
You can use a Partial Submit Point with the following types of Logic:
A Partial Submit Point can be added anywhere within your logic flow. You can add the Partial Submit Point before a logic branch, after a logic branch, or in one of the branches of logic. You can add up to 3 Partial Submit Points to your form. Keep in mind that if you place a Partial Submit Point within one of the branches of logic, you’ll be able to collect partial responses for that logic path. If you have more than 3 logic paths, you won't be able to collect partial responses on any other logic path that you may have in your form.
Partial Submit Points must be placed after at least one question. They can’t be placed after the Welcome Screen or at the end of the form.
Make sure to check your logic flow if you have branching logic added after a Partial Submit Point. In the example below, when your respondents skip the question after the Partial Submit Point, they'll be taken straight to an Ending. In this case, no partial responses will be collected.
This is because when respondents skip questions and go straight to an Ending after a Partial Submit Point, the Partial Submit Point will behave like it's at the end of the form, where no partial responses can be collected.
Viewing partially submitted responses
When viewing your responses in the Results panel, the Response type column will give each response a status of Completed or Partial:
- Completed - The respondent has completed the entire form and clicked the Submit button at the end.
- Partial - The respondent has answered up to at least 1 Partial Submit Point in the form and hasn’t completed the entire form.
The Response type column will also appear when you export your results.
If a respondent answers up to the Partial Submit Point and then goes back in the form to update previous answers, this will also update their answers in the Results panel. If they decide to go back and answer the remainder of the form, this will also update the Response type from Partial to Completed with their answers to the rest of the form.
You can also filter your responses in the table view by response type. Click Filters and select Response type in the dropdown.
Then select if you want your responses to include the Partial or Completed response type. Click Apply to view your filtered responses.
How partial responses count toward your response limit
Any partial response collected will count toward your response limit. The response count will be dependent on the respondent's browser session. Below are a few examples of how partial responses will be counted.
Respondent passes the Partial Submit Point button but doesn't click the final Submit button. | This will count as 1 response toward your response limit. |
Respondent passes the Partial Submit Point and clicks the final Submit button within one browser session. | This will count as 1 response toward your response limit. |
Respondent passes the Partial Submit Point and clicks the final Submit button on separate browser sessions. | This will count as 2 responses toward your response limit. |
If autosave progress is enabled and a respondent passes the Partial Submit Point, closes their browser then comes back and clicks the final Submit button. | This will count as 2 responses toward your response limit. |
If you have multiple Partial Submit Points. | Passing the first Partial Submit Point will count as 1 response towards your response limit. Passing additional Partial Submit Points and clicking the final Submit button in the same browser session does not count as an additional response. |
Access partial responses via the API
Via the API, developers can:
- Create a new form with a Partial Submit Point.
- Update an existing form by adding, removing, or re-positioning a Partial Submit Point.
- Retrieve partial submission responses, full submission responses, or both, in a single request.
Trigger webhooks upon a partial submission
You can trigger webhooks when respondents submit a partial response. When you edit your webhook, under Triggers, you can select Completed and Partial responses. More information on webhooks can be found here.
If you have multiple Partial Submit Points in your form, each Partial Submit Point passed can trigger a webhook to be sent.
FAQ
Why has my Partial Submit Point been disabled?
A Partial Submit Point can only be used after at least one question in your form.
If you have placed the Partial Submit Point after the Welcome Screen, at the end of your form, or have a Payment question type in your form, the Partial Submit Point will be greyed out and you’ll see a warning icon.
This means that the Partial Submit Point has been disabled and you won’t be able to collect partial responses. You’ll need to move the location of the Partial Submit Point or remove the Payment question type.
Can I add a Partial Submit Point within a Question Group?
Yes, you can add a Partial Submit Point within a Question Group. However, it can’t be placed directly after the Question Group header.
What happens if I have autosave progress enabled?
Partial Submit Point is currently not compatible with autosave progress. If a respondent completes up to the Partial Submit Point and closes their browser and comes back to the form to complete it, it'll save their response as two separate responses in your Results.
Can I send partial responses to my integrations?
Currently, you can collect partial response data with the following integrations:
- HubSpot (Contacts only)
- Salesforce
- Google Sheets
- Excel Online
- Trello
- Slack
- Microsoft Teams
- Zapier
- Klaviyo
- Aircall
If you have multiple Partial Submit Points in your form, the HubSpot Contact and Klaviyo profile will update after each Partial Submit Point passed. Salesforce Objects will update with the latest full/partial response according to the schedule you've configured in Salesforce. Check out this article for more information on setting up your Salesforce schedule.
You can enable Partial responses for integrations in your form's settings:
1. Click the settings icon in the tool bar of the Content panel.
2. Under Preferences, toggle on Send partial responses to integrations and click Save.
Then connect your form to an integration that supports Partial responses.
Can I see enriched data with partial responses?
Yes, when a respondent submits a partial response with an email address, their response will be enriched. When data enrichment is enabled for a form, the enrichment data will appear in your Results table, Results export, follow-up actions, webhooks and Contacts in the HubSpot integration when the respondent submits a partial response.
A partial response with enriched data will count as 1 enriched response toward your enrichment limit. If that same partial response with enriched data turns into a complete response, this will only count as 1 enriched response.
Partial responses with enriched data are stored as variables.
Can partial responses trigger follow-up messages?
Yes, you can create a trigger to send a follow-up email or Slack message when a respondent passes a Partial Submit Point. Each Partial Submit Point passed will send a follow-up email or Slack message.
